Disinfect the greenhouse this Autumn

Move Moss & Algae out this Autumn

Algae and Moss can be lurking around your greenhouse during this time of year due to the moist and humid environment. The end of the Summer still brings the odd hot day just with a little more rain thrown in the mix. Having algae and moss in the greenhouse present problems, not only as unsightly growths on soil surfaces and roots, but can be serious safety hazards. Having an abundance of Algae and Moss in the greenhouse also encourages the presence of fungus gnats and other pests that can infest your plants and ruin your entire crop.

Algae on Walkways:

For heavy infestation, spray or swab. Let stand for an hour or more. Brush and wash away dead algae. Soak area again with PHYSAN 20 solution. Do not rinse. This product will inhibit the growth of algae on walkways. Allow to dry on surface and repeat application when algae growth returns

Use 1.5 tablespoons of Physan 20 solution per 3.7 Litres of water.

 

Mildewstat - Table Tops & Floors:

To control mold and mildew on pre-cleaned hard, non-porous surfaces (such as floors, walls, tabletops). Apply solution with a cloth, mop or sponge making sure to wet all surfaces completely. Let air dry. Prepare a fresh solution for each use. Repeat application at weekly intervals or when mildew growth reappears.

Use 3 tablespoons of PHYSAN 20 in 8 Litres of water.

 

Pots, Flats and Flower Buckets: 

Used pots and flats should be brushed or washed, then soaked in PHYSAN 20 solution for 10 minutes before using to kill such diseases as Anthracnose, Blight, Crown Rot, Mildew, Root Rot and Rusts.

Use 1 tablespoon of PHYSAN 20 in 3.7 Litres of water.

  

Work Area and Benches: 

Before each work period, spray or swab working surfaces. Spray or swab again after each plant is completed to kill such diseases as, Botrytis, Crown Rot, Downy Mildew, Root Rot e.t.c.

Use 1 tablespoon of PHYSAN 20 in 3.7 Litres of water.

 

Trust your tools?

Cutting and pruning tools are a prime suspect when it comes to controlling the spread of infectious diseases around the garden. When was the last time you cleaned or disinfected them? Tools that are left unchecked risk contaminating all plants they come into contact with, so you must always be ready and prepared.

Keep a solution of Physan20 handy to dunk your tools in to ensure no evil can be committed from those secateurs or hedge loppers.

Keeping your tools in check and sterilised is a sure shot method to keep infections at bay and greatly mitigate the spread of disease.

For a killer tool steriliser: 

Use 1 teaspoon of Physan 20 in 0.9 litres of water.
